Vallejo Model Color

Introducing the new Model Color, the range that sets the standard for all figure and model kits painting enthusiasts, now improved to remain your favorite paint!
Vallejo are pleased to share with all of you the changes they have made to Model Color, their most iconic and versatile range. Throughout this process, Vallejo have been advised by renowned painters and modelers who have helped them design the colors of the range so that you have the exact tone to paint your figures and models.
The range consists of 220 references, including 192 very opaque colors, 10 metallics, 2 transparent, and 16 auxiliary products, presented in the new 18 ml r-PET (recycled/recyclable) bottle, completely transparent and more sustainable.
Vallejo have introduced a new formulation that will surprise you with its amazing brushability, excellent opacity and superb matt finish. You will notice that the colors dry quickly, forming a homogeneous and self-leveling layer that respects the smallest detail present in your model. In fact, Vallejo recommend applying them on a previously primed surface.
And if you’re wondering if the new Model Color it’s the same as before, the answer is NO, it’s not the same, it’s better!

Vallejo Liquid Metal
|

Liquid Metal, 8 metallic colors with an isopropyl alcohol-based formulation, offer an exceptionally realistic finish with a high gloss. They dry quickly and can be mixed together to obtain different shades.
We recommend using only isopropyl alcohol to dilute the colors and also to clean your brushes or airbrush.

Vallejo Auxiliary Products
|

|
|
The range of auxiliary products has been formulated to modify the characteristics of a color. Our selection can be divided between mediums which change the transparency or the shine of a color, or to reproduce the natural effect of chipped off paint, or employed to fix decals on the model, and varnishes, both acrylic and polyurethane, which unify the finish of the models or figures and provide a protection and additional resistance to manipulation. Our airbrush mediums are used as much to dilute a color as to delay the drying of paint in the airbrush and the different cleaners are employed to assure the best maintenance to the working tools of the modeler, be it brushes or airbrushes.

Vallejo Metal Color
|

|
|
Metal Color is the innovative range of metallic colors with a water-based formulation, which uses aluminium pigments in its production. The Metal Color range offers a wide range of shades in order to imitate the metallic finish of aircraft of all types and eras. Of exceptional brightness and extraordinary power of reflection, it allows the modeler to carry out the full range of painting techniques without the need to resort to enamels and lacquers. It can be applied directly to the model using an airbrush or diluted with our Airbrush Thinner or Flow Improver. Metal Color dries very quickly, maintaining the smallest details present on the model and forming a homogeneous and self-leveling layer of extraordinary resistance a few hours after application. Metal Color can be tinted directly in the airbrush cup using colors from the Model Air or Game Air ranges. It can also be applied with a brush. Recommended compressor settings for our colors are around 15-20 Psi or 0.5-1 kg. It is advisable, in the case of airframes and aircraft model components, to apply Gloss Black Primer, available in 60 ml / 2.02 fl oz bottles (ref. 73.660) and 200 ml / 6.76 fl oz (ref. 74.660) with hinge cap and dropper, to enhance the special characteristics of the aluminium shades. Metal Color dries very quickly, but it is advisable to wait 12 hours after application before applying any paint masks. Also available is Gloss Metal Varnish in 60 ml / 2.02 fl oz bottles (ref. 26.657) with hinged cap and dropper.

Vallejo Surface Primer
|

|
|
Primers is available in a range of basic shades most frequently employed to prepare the surface of the model or miniature before starting the painting process. Primers can be applied on all surfaces, resin, PVC, brass, white metal or wood. The primer preserving even the smallest detail of a model, and improves the adherence of the colors applied on this base. It is recommended to apply the Primer in various layers; the product dries rapidly and forms a homogenous film of extraordinary strength and resistance within a few hours after application. Surface Primer can be used directly or diluted with Vallejo Airbrush Thinner of Flow Improver. The recommended compressor settings are around 15-20 PSI or 0.5 to 1 kg.

Vallejo Diorama FX

The placement of our model in a diorama or vignette gives it a reality, a background and a history, an added dimension and a reason for the humidity, the traces of mud, of the dry sand of the desert or the dark earth of the wooded landscapes of central Europe. The range of Diorama FX offers the modeler everything needed for the reproduction of a terrain, with effects of sandy and dusty roads, or of snow, mud and water, all of which add to the realism of the setting and relate the model to its environment.

Vallejo Hobby Paint Spray

Sprays are a perfect combination of base coat and highly pigmented color, developed for use on all metal, plastic and resin models and miniatures. Vallejo's original and unique spray formula dries fast and offers a perfect matt and self-levelling finish, designed to respect and bring forth even the finest details of the models and miniatures. The colors are a perfect match to the equivalent shades available in the Model Color range, so both painting techniques can be combined.
Each Hobby Paint shows the original color applied on the colored ring around the top and is equipped with 2 different nozzles; one with a low discharge flow, especially recommended for painting precise and small details and the medium discharge flow, recommended for painting medium and larger surfaces.
