World War III - American: LAV-AD Air Defense Platoon

The U.S. Marine Corps LAV-25 (Light Armored Vehicle) is a modular platform used for numerous roles including transport, antitank, and reconnaissance. Recognizing the need for integrated air defence on the same platform, the Marines fielded the LAV-AD in which the primary armament of one M242 Bushmaster 25mm chain gun was replaced with a GAU-12 Equalizer 25mm 5-barreled Gatling cannon with 990 rounds of ammunition. In addition, it was equipped with two missile pods containing four FIM-92 Stinger missiles each. This combination provided the Marines with capable Short Range Air Defense (SHORAD) against helicopters and ground attack aircraft.
